Omni Software Update Statistics
Software from The Omni Group includes a mechanism called Omni Software Update (OSU) which allows the user to check for updated versions of the application they are using, either manually or automatically, at specified intervals. Recently we made a change to OSU so that it optionally collects some basic information about the system configurations of our users. We use this data to help us understand what hardware and software systems are most important to support.
Because we're nice folks who want to help the development community, we've decided to make the information we gather public (in aggregate form) so that you can also benefit from this knowledge.
Below you'll find statistical information about all collected configurations to date. The information is provided as-is. We're not going to tell you exactly how many individual users have submitted the information, nor can we place any guarantee on the accuracy of this information. Remember, this is not a poll of the Mac OS X community at large, just a subset of our customer base.

The Goods
And now, the data. Mmmmm, data.
Changes
January 2, 2008 - Fixed a problem with the Major OS revision report; it wasn't including the counts for 10.4.11 and thus was inflating the 10.5 numbers.
August 16, 2007 - It turns out that the method we were using to look up the OS revision clamps the minor and bug fix components to 9. So, we are currently reporting 10.4.10 as 10.4.9. We've fixed this and the change will roll out slowly, so the graph of the pickup of 10.4.10 will be relatively bogus.
June 1, 2007 - Updated again finally. There are a couple hiccups in the data where our webserver had issues with log files or whatnot.
May 12, 2006 - Shortened the report lifetime to 15 days instead of 45 to make the report run faster.
May 11, 2006 - Added graphs for the number of displays and GPUs.
May 5, 2006 - Changed the graphs to only consider software update reports that are 45 days or less old (previously 90 days). Added a new report of the top graphics card types.
